Sketcnote Lab Live Replay: January 2025
The recorded replay (for subscribers) of Mike Rohde deconstructing two sketchnotes with the creator, Michael Clayton, to provide insights and answer questions.
Saturday’s Sketchnote Lab Live workshop was a blast! Lab Members joined Professor
and me as I deconstructed two of his sketchnotes. It was fun to have Michael on the call to ask questions, and that’s all captured in the replay. To see more of Michael’s work, check out his Flickr feed.
Deconstructed Sketchnotes
Here are the two sketchnotes I deconstructed with tracing paper in Saturday’s session, with a few notes about each sketchnote:
Sketchnote One: Sketchnoting in Schools (Analog)
Prof Clayton made this sketchnote for himself, so he was more relaxed than sketchnote two, which was for a client. It was a two-color analog sketchnote, created as a one-and-done piece in about 50 minutes. The deconstruction is below.
Sketchnote Two: 7 Ways to Be the Change (Digital)
Prof Clayton created this sketchnote for a client, with rough notes during the event and revised, final notes afterward in Procreate on an iPad Pro. He spent a total of 4 hours, including the 1-hour session and 3 hours to rework the visuals and text. The deconstruction is below.
